Bus stop snatch-and-dash

Sam’s belongings were grabbed while he waited for the bus. Thieves often target busy public transport hubs, which are frequented by tourists carrying valuables. Sam had been taking buses and trains for most of his holiday in India. He was standing on the footpath with a bag containing his phone, iPad, camera and daily essentials slung over his shoulder. Traffic was heavy and Sam didn’t notice the motorcycle coming towards him. There were two riders, and one of them tore Sam’s bag from him as they sped past. Sam turned to chase them, but quickly realised that the thieves were armed. He reported the crime to local police and his travel insurer paid his claim for his stolen possessions.
