The windscreen on Andrew’s rental car shattered after being hit by a rock. Andrew had been driving on a motorway, when another car flicked up the rock and caused the damage. Unsure of what to do, Andrew returned the car to the hire company. The hire company informed him that he would have to pay for the repair. On hearing this, Andrew called his travel insurance provider to see if his policy covered the damaged. Unfortunately, windscreen and tyre damage wasn’t covered under the vehicle’s insurance so Andrew had to pay for the repair himself.
