Miller broke his ankle while visiting an ancient ruin. Turkey is home to historical sites that, due to their age, can have worn and uneven walking paths. Miller was exploring the Ephesus ruins. He was preoccupied with taking photos and looking at the old architecture. Suddenly, Miller took a step and his foot slipped from under him. He fell and broke his ankle on impact with the ground. Miller was evacuated from the site by a local ambulance and transported to a nearby hospital. The doctors confirmed that his ankle needed urgent treatment. Miller was on a group tour and still had a few stops to visit, but because of his injury he needed to cancel his trip. Unsure of what to do, he contacted his travel insurer for assistance. They helped cover Miller’s medical costs and reimbursed him for the cancelled portion of his trip.
